Racing Conviction presents its new song 'Enemies Ahead'
Raising Conviction was born in 2014. The band from Belo Horizonte, Brazil has the purpose of making heavy music with a quality that matches it to metal's international market. The songs portray the challenges and uncertainties of humanity in its relationship with society and with itself.
With three songs released, “Beyond the Walls” (2016), “House of Cards” (2017) and “This Is The Day” (2018), two with music videos and one with a lyric-video, Raising Conviction has musical influences that switch between Metalcore, Deathcore, Thrash Metal, Nu Metal, Death Metal and other schools of music and metal that have become the basis for each member's musical construction, always trying to make a heavy.
"Enemies Ahead" is the newest song from Raising Conviction. hich will be released on August 14 of 2020 and brings a strong reflection about depression, suicide and other issues that plague the human subjectivity within the society and itself. All of that is from the insight that the vocalist, Julimar Fernandes had after a disturbing
personal experience.
The song was originally called "Enemies Ahead, Friends Behind" and had another conception, where the "enemies" (society, challenges, life
problems in general) are in front of you, but you have friends together with you to help you to deal with and overcome these problems.
Later, when the lyrics were actually written, the title was reduced to “Enemies Ahead”, just after the tragedy witnessed by the vocalist.
In 2018, after witnessing the suicide of a neighbor, the trauma became inspiration to write about such delicate topics as depression and
anxiety. The song became a music video directed by Davidson Mainart, from the band Eminence (also from Belo Horizonte, Brazil) bringing all these internal questions about life and death, portraying the depression in its worst aspects, the human cruelty and irresponsibility towards others and with the environment in which we live.
The song was recorded at Monster Stúdio (BH), Estúdio Guerra (BH) and mixed and mastered by Marcelo Braga (RJ), with a unique sound
that amplifies all the heaviness, melody, speed and technique that youcan hear in the band's previous releases.
